Elder Abilez left LAX late last night (after a two-hour delay) with around 30 other missionaries headed to Guatemala City and the MTC (Missionary Training Center) located there. He arrived safely (though he says they made an emergency landing in Mexico City for medical reasons for another passenger). He says that Guatemala reminds him a lot of California, and that the weather even matched what it had been recently in California.
He only got a few minutes to email, mostly just to let us know that he was okay, but he says he misses his family (but not a lot, because he has to stay there, ya know? Same old humor) and that the food is good (so far). He will write again on Monday, and will hopefully have an hour to really write.
